Zapping the brain to help macular degeneration patients see better?

NCT ID NCT04762368

Summary

This study is testing whether a mild, painless form of brain stimulation can boost the benefits of visual training for people with macular degeneration. Thirty adults with age-related or juvenile macular degeneration will undergo six training sessions, with half receiving real brain stimulation and half receiving a sham (placebo) treatment. The main goal is to see if this combination helps people read words on a screen more easily and improves their ability to see fine details.
