Magnetic pulses aim to reawaken lost language skills

NCT ID NCT04188067

Summary

This study tested whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique could help improve language abilities in people with primary progressive aphasia (PPA), a condition that causes gradual loss of language skills. Ten participants received magnetic pulses to specific brain areas for two weeks to see if this could strengthen their brain's language network. Researchers measured changes in naming ability and brain connectivity to understand if this approach could provide temporary relief from language symptoms.
