Zapping the brain to soothe a gutsy pain

NCT ID NCT06757491

Summary

This study is testing whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique can reduce chronic stomach pain in people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D). Researchers are recruiting 42 adults with IBS-D to receive either real or fake magnetic stimulation to a specific brain area. The goal is to see if this approach can ease pain and improve symptoms by calming overactive brain signals.
