First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This small study tested whether a noninvasive electrical stimulation technique, aimed at a specific brain area called the right superior temporal sulcus, could help reduce hallucinations in people with psychosis. Twelve adults who were actively experiencing hallucinations received the stimulation. The goal was to see if this targeted approach could improve brain activity and lessen the severity of hallucinations.
