Zapping away veteran pain: brain stimulation trial offers new hope
NCT ID NCT07151248
Summary
This study is testing whether a safe, non-drug therapy can ease the chronic pain and headaches common in Gulf War Veterans. About 130 veterans will use a small, FDA-cleared device that delivers gentle electrical stimulation through the ear for six weeks. Researchers will use brain scans to see if the treatment reduces pain and changes brain activity related to inflammation.
