Magnetic pulses target brain disease in groundbreaking trial

NCT ID NCT07316413

Summary

This study is testing whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) can help control or slow the progression of frontotemporal dementia. Researchers will recruit 120 people, including those with the disease and some at-risk family members, to receive either real or placebo stimulation over several weeks. The main goals are to check if the treatment is safe and to see if it can improve brain function and reduce symptoms.
