Zapping the brain to read faces: new hope for schizophrenia?
NCT ID NCT07469384
First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a gentle, non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tDCS can improve the ability to recognize emotions on people's faces in those with schizophrenia. Researchers will use brain scans (fMRI) and brain wave recordings (EEG) to see how the brain responds to moving faces and dots. The goal is to understand if stimulating a specific brain area can help with social skills, which are often challenging for people with this condition.
