Zap away depression? brain stimulation trial offers hope without pills

NCT ID NCT05732298

Summary

This study is testing whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called iTBS can help reduce depression symptoms in people who choose not to take antidepressant medications. It involves 72 adults with depression in Germany who will receive either four weeks of immediate treatment or start treatment after a four-week waiting period. Researchers will compare depression scores and quality of life to see if the stimulation therapy works better than waiting without treatment.
