5-Day brain zap trial offers hope for Tough-to-Treat depression
NCT ID NCT07282678
Summary
This study is testing whether a non-invasive brain stimulation device worn on the head can reduce symptoms of major depression. It will involve about 214 adults with moderate to severe depression who haven't gotten enough relief from at least one antidepressant medication. Participants will receive either the real stimulation or a sham (fake) treatment for five days in a row, and researchers will track their depression and anxiety symptoms for several weeks afterward.
