Magnetic pulses target the 'Overthinking' brain in depression

NCT ID NCT06511544

Summary

This small pilot study is testing whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique can help reduce rumination—the cycle of repetitive negative thoughts—in adults with depression that hasn't responded to at least one medication. Researchers will use Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) on a specific brain area while tracking changes in brain activity and self-reported thinking patterns. The study involves 20 participants who will receive 20 TMS sessions and undergo brain scans before, during, and after treatment.
