Brain zaps tested to wake coma patients
NCT ID NCT07213869
Summary
This study tests whether gentle electrical brain stimulation can help patients with severe brain injuries regain consciousness. Five patients who have been in minimally conscious or vegetative states for 3-12 months will receive personalized stimulation targeting specific brain waves. Each patient will alternate between stimulation and non-stimulation periods over three months to see if the treatment improves their level of awareness.
