Zapping the brain to sharpen the mind: new hope for schizophrenia?

NCT ID NCT07445620

First seen Mar 14, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests two types of non-invasive brain stimulation to see if they can improve cognitive problems like memory and attention in people with treatment-resistant schizophrenia. Ninety adults who are already on the medication clozapine will receive either one of the two active treatments or a sham (fake) treatment over 4 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in thinking skills, social understanding, and brain activity to find out which approach works best.
