Zapping the brain to change how people see themselves

NCT ID NCT05607121

Summary

This study aimed to understand how a noninvasive brain stimulation technique might affect visual processing in adults with body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). Researchers tested two types of magnetic stimulation on 40 participants to see if it changed how their brains processed images of faces, particularly their own. The goal was to gather knowledge about the brain mechanisms behind BDD's perceptual distortions to inform future treatments.
