NCT ID NCT07427563

Summary

This study is testing whether a surgical brain stimulation device can help people with severe, untreatable ataxia—a condition that causes unsteady walking and poor coordination. Researchers will implant a 'deep brain stimulation' device in the cerebellum, the brain's coordination center, in 12 patients. The main goals are to check if the surgery is safe and to see if it improves patients' balance and walking over one year.
