Scientists zap brains to see how we handle harsh words

NCT ID NCT07406464

Summary

This study explored how a mild, non-invasive form of brain stimulation might change how healthy people's brains process social criticism and praise. Researchers used brain scans (fMRI) and mood surveys to compare the effects of real stimulation versus a fake (sham) stimulation in 47 healthy female volunteers. The goal was to understand the basic brain mechanisms behind emotional regulation, not to treat any condition.
