Weekly brain scans reveal how premature babies grow

NCT ID NCT06052865

Summary

This study aims to understand how the brains of very premature babies grow and develop injuries during their time in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Researchers will use a special, safe MRI scanner inside the NICU to take brain pictures of 75 infants approximately every two weeks. The goal is to learn when injuries happen and how the brain grows, which may help doctors tailor supportive care for future babies based on their individual risks.
