Scientists test 'Unconscious' brain hack to erase fear of spiders
NCT ID NCT06420557
Summary
This study is testing a new method to reduce fear in people with specific phobias, like fear of spiders or snakes. Researchers use a brain scanner (fMRI) to identify fear signals and then try to weaken them unconsciously, without the person having to directly face the thing they fear. The goal is to see if this approach can reduce fear reactions and make it easier for people to approach feared objects, both right after treatment and four weeks later.
