Scientists try to erase phobias while You're unaware

NCT ID NCT06420557

Summary

This UCLA study is testing a new method to reduce fear in people with specific phobias, like fear of spiders or snakes. Using a brain scanner, researchers aim to unconsciously train the brain to be less fearful, avoiding the distress of repeatedly facing the feared object. The study will enroll 60 adults with animal phobias to see if this approach works better than current treatments.
