Scientists use helmet scanner to watch brain learn to walk again in virtual worlds

NCT ID NCT06276894

Summary

This small study tested if a portable brain scanner (fNIRS) could be used safely and effectively to measure brain activity in people with chronic traumatic brain injury (TBI) while they walked on a treadmill using virtual reality (VR). The goal was to see if this technology could help researchers understand how the brain responds to VR walking therapy. The study involved 8 participants to check if the setup was practical and safe for future research.
