Scientists scan brains to unlock Schizophrenia's secrets

NCT ID NCT00942981

Summary

This study aimed to better understand how brain chemistry differs in people with schizophrenia. Researchers used special brain scans (PET and MRI) to measure dopamine receptors in 283 participants, including healthy volunteers and people with schizophrenia. The goal was to gather knowledge about the brain's dopamine system, which could inform future research and care, but this study did not test any treatments.
