Scientists scan brains to unlock mystery of chronic fatigue pain

Summary
This study aims to understand how the brain processes the unpleasant feelings of pain and physical effort, particularly in people with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS). Researchers will use MRI brain scans on about 47 participants, including both healthy volunteers and people with ME/CFS, while they perform tasks involving mild heat and squeezing a bar. The goal is to map which brain areas are active during these unpleasant sensations to learn more about the condition.
