Scientists scan brains to unlock secrets of sleepless nights

NCT ID NCT04024787

Summary

This study uses brain scans to understand how chronic insomnia affects brain activity during memory tasks and emotional responses. Researchers will compare 120 participants—80 with chronic insomnia and 40 good sleepers—to see if cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia can normalize these brain patterns. The goal is to learn how psychological treatment changes brain function in people with sleep problems.
