Teens with eating disorders get brain scans to test drug effects

NCT ID NCT05509257

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at how a drug called naltrexone changes brain activity in teenagers aged 13-21 with eating disorders like bulimia or binge eating. Participants will have brain scans after taking either naltrexone or a placebo to see if the drug affects reward pathways. The goal is to develop a brain-based marker for how well the drug works, not to treat the disorder directly.
