New study aims to find better radiation option for brain metastases with fewer memory problems
NCT ID NCT01592968
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study compares two radiation treatments for people whose cancer has spread to the brain (non-melanoma). One method, stereotactic radiosurgery, delivers a strong, focused beam to each tumor. The other, whole brain radiation, treats the entire brain with lower doses over several sessions. The goal is to see which approach better controls tumors while causing fewer memory and thinking issues. About 88 adults with 4 to 15 brain tumors are taking part.
