Brain pulse therapy shows promise for treating depression

NCT ID NCT05551585

Summary

This study tested whether a new, non-invasive brain stimulation therapy called Transcranial Pulse Stimulation (TPS) can help reduce symptoms of major depression. Researchers enrolled 80 adults with depression and randomly assigned them to receive either the real TPS treatment or a sham (placebo) procedure over six weeks. The goal was to see if this new approach could help people who may not get enough relief from standard antidepressant medications.
