Summary
This study tested whether adding the drug dexmedetomidine to standard mannitol treatment better controls brain pressure during prostate surgery. Researchers enrolled 60 patients undergoing elective robotic prostate surgery to compare the two approaches. They measured pressure changes in the brain and tracked complications and hospital stays to see if the combination was safer.
