New brain scanner could give doctors a window into a Newborn's first moments
NCT ID NCT05896306
Summary
This study is testing a new, non-invasive device that shines light on a newborn's head to measure oxygen levels in the brain right after birth. Researchers want to see if this 'pulsatile NIRS' monitor gives doctors better information than current heart rate and oxygen checks, especially for vulnerable premature babies. The goal is to learn if this tool can help spot problems with blood flow to the brain during this critical transition period.
