Brain oxygen levels in newborns may predict future neurological issues
NCT ID NCT07393620
First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looks at newborns with mild hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), a brain injury from low oxygen around birth. Researchers will monitor brain activity and oxygen levels during the first 72 hours of life. They will then check the babies' development at 18-24 months to see if early monitoring can predict which babies might have neurological problems later. The goal is to improve early risk assessment and follow-up care.
