Egg powder tested to fight deadly brain swelling
NCT ID NCT04117672
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a special egg yolk powder called Salovum to standard hospital care can help control dangerous swelling in the brain after a severe head injury. Twenty patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the active powder or a placebo powder for five days, while doctors closely monitor brain pressure and other vital signs. The goal is to see if this food-based treatment can improve recovery by reducing brain swelling, which is a major cause of disability and death after trauma.
