Ear needles tested to wake coma patients
NCT ID NCT07273864
Summary
This study tested whether adding ear acupuncture to standard care helps patients with severe brain injuries wake from coma. Researchers divided 60 patients into two groups: one received standard care plus nerve stimulation, while the other received the same plus tiny needles placed in specific ear points. They measured how many patients woke up, their neurological function, and family satisfaction over 8 weeks.
