New anesthesia approach aims to protect injured brains during surgery
NCT ID NCT07244822
Summary
This study compared two anesthesia drugs (dexmedetomidine and sufentanil) to see which one better maintains oxygen levels in the brain during surgery for traumatic brain injury. Researchers monitored 28 patients using a special forehead sensor to measure brain oxygen before, during, and after their operations. The goal was to find the safest anesthesia approach to prevent additional brain damage during critical neurosurgery.
