Brain implant trial seeks to spot seizures before they happen

NCT ID NCT06700356

Summary

This study is testing whether a deep brain stimulation implant already used for epilepsy can also accurately detect seizures as they occur. It involves 5 adults with drug-resistant epilepsy who already have the specific implant. Researchers will compare the implant's seizure readings against the current gold-standard hospital monitoring to see how well it performs.
