Scientists scan thousands of brains to map mental illness

NCT ID NCT00004571

Summary

This study aimed to better understand brain disorders like schizophrenia by comparing detailed brain scans of patients to those of healthy volunteers. Researchers used advanced MRI and MEG imaging technology to look for differences in brain structure, chemistry, and activity. The goal was to gather knowledge to help identify biological markers of these conditions, not to test a treatment.
