Scientists map the brain to unlock Dementia's secrets

NCT ID NCT01800214

Summary

This study aims to better understand and track different types of dementia, like Alzheimer's and vascular dementia, by observing how the brain changes over time. Researchers are using yearly MRI brain scans, genetic tests, and memory assessments on nearly 2,000 participants to create detailed maps of disease progression. The goal is to improve diagnosis and provide better tools to measure the effects of future treatments.
