Brain games for brain tumors: new study tests thinking skills in kids getting proton therapy

NCT ID NCT02559752

First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether computer-based thinking tests are practical for children with central nervous system tumors who are receiving proton beam radiation therapy. Researchers will test children's memory, attention, and other thinking skills before treatment and then again 6-12 months later, plus yearly after that. The goal is to see how proton radiation affects brain function over time, depending on the child's age, tumor location, and radiation dose. About 80 children aged 4 to 21 will take part.
