Scientists peer into depressed brains to spot missing enzyme

Summary
This study uses a special PET scan tracer to measure levels of an enzyme called PDE4B in the brain. Researchers want to see if people having a major depressive episode have lower PDE4B levels than healthy volunteers. Up to 108 adults aged 18-70 with depression or healthy will undergo brain scans and tests. The goal is to better understand depression, not to treat it.
