New imaging study seeks to uncover brain energy secrets in Alzheimer's

Summary

This study will use a special PET/MR scanner to measure how the brain uses glucose and oxygen in people with Alzheimer's disease compared to healthy volunteers. The goal is to better understand energy problems in the aging brain. Researchers will also test if a ketosis (low-carb) diet can change brain energy use. The study involves 17 participants and includes cognitive tests.
