Chilling the brain after stroke: new device shows promise
NCT ID NCT06634303
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This early study tested a device that cools the brain after a stroke caused by a blocked artery. Eight patients received the cooling treatment right after a procedure to remove the clot. The goal was to see if cooling the brain is safe and can help protect it from further damage. This is a first step in exploring a new way to improve stroke recovery.
