Chilling the brain after stroke: new device tested in 8 patients

Summary

This early study tested a new device that cools the brain in 8 people who had a stroke caused by a large blood clot. After doctors removed the clot, the device cooled the brain for 30 minutes to try to protect it from further damage. The main goal was to see if the cooling was safe and worked as intended.
