Concussion recovery breakthrough: brain study reveals eye treatment secrets

NCT ID NCT05262361

First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looked at how the brain controls eye convergence (the ability to focus both eyes on a close object) in people aged 11 to 35 who had a concussion 1 to 6 months ago and still have symptoms like trouble reading. Researchers compared those with persistent post-concussion symptoms and convergence insufficiency to others with typical convergence insufficiency, and tested two different lengths of vision therapy. The goal was to understand the brain mechanisms behind the condition and find the best treatment duration.
