Can a good night's sleep wash away Alzheimer's proteins?

NCT ID NCT07432997

Summary

This study explores whether certain sleep medications can safely boost the brain's natural cleaning system, called the glymphatic system, to help clear harmful proteins linked to Alzheimer's disease. Researchers tested two medication combinations on 31 healthy older adults during controlled sleep sessions, measuring protein levels in their blood. The goal is to see if enhancing this natural process could support future Alzheimer's treatments that work alongside existing approaches.
