Zapping the brain to quiet OCD's inner alarm

NCT ID NCT07480408

Summary

This study aims to understand and potentially treat the unusual sensory feelings that often drive compulsive behaviors in people with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Researchers will use brain scans and a non-invasive magnetic stimulation technique (rTMS) on a specific brain area in 120 adults, including people with OCD and healthy volunteers. They want to see if this stimulation, sometimes paired with watching specific videos, can reduce these sensory urges and improve overall OCD symptoms.
