Brain monitoring during surgery: which method is better?
NCT ID NCT04978558
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looked at two non-invasive methods (NIRS and TCD) to monitor how well the brain controls its own blood flow during major non-cardiac surgery. The goal was to see if these methods give similar results and to explore how blood pressure changes during surgery might affect thinking and memory afterward. Over 500 adults having surgery with expected blood loss were included.
