New procedure aims to stop recurring brain bleeds in elderly
NCT ID NCT06181994
Summary
This study is looking at the real-world results of a minimally invasive procedure to treat chronic subdural hematoma, a type of brain bleed common in older adults. Researchers will review past medical records of 5,000 patients who had a procedure that blocks a small artery to stop the bleed from coming back. The main goal is to see how safe the procedure is and how often the brain bleed returns compared to standard surgery.
