MRI clue may predict deadly brain bleed recurrence
NCT ID NCT03464344
Summary
This study aimed to understand if a specific sign seen on brain MRI scans, called cortical superficial siderosis, can predict which patients with cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) are more likely to have another symptomatic brain bleed. Researchers followed 170 older adults who had already experienced one brain bleed from CAA for two years, tracking their health and MRI scans. The goal was to gather knowledge to help doctors better assess future risk for their patients, not to test a new treatment.
