Scientists hunt for clues to predict brain injury recovery
NCT ID NCT06364059
Summary
This study aimed to understand which factors best predict how well patients recover after emergency surgery for a traumatic brain bleed (acute subdural hematoma). Researchers followed 175 patients for a year, tracking details like their initial injury severity and brain scan results. The goal was to test and improve existing scoring systems to help doctors give more accurate long-term outlooks to patients and families.
