Scientists probe rare brain condition to unlock secrets of Alzheimer's and MS
NCT ID NCT06403189
Summary
This study aims to understand and develop new ways to test the function of the choroid plexus, a critical brain barrier. Researchers will study 65 participants, including people with a rare condition called LHIPFOLD, other neurological patients, and healthy volunteers. They will use brain scans and analyze blood and spinal fluid to identify specific signs of barrier dysfunction, hoping to create diagnostic tools for broader use.
