Summary
This study will give 120 surgery patients one of three anesthetics—propofol, dexmedetomidine, or esketamine—and use high-density EEG to measure brain activity while they are unconscious. The goal is to understand how each drug disrupts brain communication and to find markers that could help anesthesiologists monitor consciousness during surgery. Participants are healthy adults undergoing elective non-cardiac surgery.
