Scientists probe brain during surgery to unlock Parkinson's memory mystery

NCT ID NCT04715984

Summary

This study aims to understand how brain activity relates to thinking and memory problems in Parkinson's disease. Researchers will measure brain signals from 75 Parkinson's patients during their deep brain stimulation surgery while they perform simple thinking tasks. The goal is to learn how different brain areas communicate when cognitive issues develop, which could inform future treatments.
