Scientists scan brains to see how therapy fights OCD

NCT ID NCT01331876

Summary

This study aimed to understand how two different types of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) change brain activity in people with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Researchers scanned the brains of 35 adults with OCD before, during, and after 15 weeks of therapy to see which areas became more or less active. The goal was to learn how therapy works in the brain, not to test a new treatment.
